And the result is pretty impressive.

The Porsche 935 is one of the German automaker's most legendary racecars and is easily distinguishable thanks to its iconic "slantnose" aerodynamic front end. This design proved so popular that Kremer Racing offered a flatnose conversions for the 930-generation Porsche 911 Turbo in the 1980s and even commissioned Porsche to develop a one-off street-legal version of the Porsche 935.

Due to increasing demand, Porsche eventually offered its own Flatnose version of the Porsche 930 in 1986. Back in 2018, the Porsche 935 was reborn as a limited-edition track weapon based on the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, but it wasn't street legal. Now, a Japanese gearhead is continuing the legacy of Porsche's aerodynamic nose.

But rather than convert a modern Porsche 911, someone has performed surgery on the Nissan 350Z to give the Japanese sports car a Porsche-style flatnose job. Built by Ashiru Ito in Japan, this custom flatnosed Nissan 350Z has been appropriately named the Nissan 935Z. As you can see from photos published on Instagram of the finished build, Ashiru has done a remarkable job replicating the look of the original Porsche 935.

The front end combines elements of the modern GT2 RS-based 935 with the round fog lights of the original "Moby Dick" Le Mans racer, while the ginormous rear wing looks just as massive as the one fitted to the modern Porsche 935. Unlike the Porsche 930 slantnose conversions, the Nissan 935Z doesn't have working pop-up headlights, sadly.

Everything from the front and rear fenders to the front bumper and side skirts were custom-made for the Nissan 935Z, which is finished in grey. Massive wheel arches housing custom wheels also make the Nissan 935Z look suitably aggressive. While the project is mostly complete, Ashiru is planning to extend the hood and widen the rear bumper.

While the exterior has been transformed into a Porsche 935 tribute, the interior and engine have been left stock. When it was in production, the Nissan 350Z was powered by a 3.5-liter V6 producing 306 hp and 268 lb-ft of torque. We can't wait to see how this ambitious project evolves.
